Rajiv was born in Uganda and later studied in the United Kingdom. The Ruparelia Foundation identified him as a Financial Management graduate of Regent’s College London and a trustee involved in welfare and sports programmes.
How Did Rajiv Ruparelia Die?
Rajiv Ruparelia died in a single-vehicle accident at the Busabala Flyover in Makindye-Ssabagabo, Wakiso District, during the early hours of May 3, 2025.
The preliminary traffic police account placed the accident at approximately 1:54 a.m. Rajiv was driving a Nissan GT-R when the vehicle struck temporary concrete structures, overturned and caught fire. He was alone in the car and died at the scene.
The initial police statement confirmed the sequence of the crash but did not establish a final underlying cause. Reports that followed raised questions about the positioning, lighting and visibility of the temporary barriers.
